Permaculture Yarra Valley
Home Composting and
Worm Farm Workshop
Sunday 4th June, 10am to 1pm
At Edible Warburton Community Garden
3394 Warburton Highway (next to Warburton Wellbeing)
Composting is a vital part of an abundant and organic home veggie and fruit garden. In this workshop, run by Permaculture Yarra Valley’s Travis Heenan, we will demonstrate a number of simple composting methods including a turned compost pile, a static compost pile, a simple worm farm and compost tea. We will look at the pros and cons of the different systems and troubleshoot problems encountered by participants.
Composting doesn't have to be difficult once people know which system is best suited for their situation. At the end of this session participants will be informed and inspired make biologically diverse and nutrient rich composting happen at home.
Facilitator: Travis Heenan runs the Community Supported Agriculture market garden at PEACE Farm and has been working with different composting systems on different scales for over 8 years.
